"We were greeted warmly as we came through the door, with a number of people waiting to collect their take aways. We were shown through toward the rear of the restaurant and seated, immediately shown menu' and offered drinks - Kingfisher and a house red. The obligatory poppadums were offered which we duly accepted, brought out nice and swift with a good selection of condiments.

The restaurant itself is quite pleasant inside, a smart bar to the right as you walk in, nice clean white walls and some interesting colour change lighting and modern art. I must say that the air conditioning was on full pelt but I did think that could come to be a good thing later on in the meal! The menu is pretty impressive, some quite unusual choices and definitely something to cater for all manner of tastes.

For starters, we went for stir fried scallops with keralla spices whilst I went for the Tandoori king prawn. Both came out swiftly and well presented. Unfortunately, the scallops were very chewy and they were also tiny, we counted five in total and I am always concerned when they are that small as it points to them not being fresh but of the frozen variety. My Tandoori King Prawn was pleasant enough, although nothing more and maybe a bit powdery.

For mains we decided to share a portion of special fried rice and a keema naan....this turned out to be ample as the portions were most generous and we struggled to finish. Both the naan bread and rice were of a good quality. An interesting dish that consisted of battered minced white fish in a spicy sauce. The sauce that it was accompanied with was very good and the batter managed to keep its crispyness all the way through. It could have perhaps been seasoned better, as it was difficult to taste the fish over the egg inside the balls.

I had no choice but to go for the Bombay flame (lamb), made with my favourite variety of chilli.....the naga. This chilli, when used sparingly, is absolutely delicious, it almost has a sweetness to it, I was pleased that the manager advised that I go for the madras heat rather than the vindaloo as this was just right, my pores certainly opened and I had become glad of the air conditioning. I certainly enjoyed the dish.

By now, we were absolutely stuffed, so we asked for the bill. I was shocked to see that after poppadums, starters, 3 beers, 1 wine, 2 mains and rice and naan the total was only £49.80. Outstanding value! Service throughout the meal was excellent, but I feel they did let themselves down on the starters and my partner's main. They definitely get a lot right here, and I guess the price has to be taken into consideration too, very good value for money."
