Age & Sons - Ramsgate is a light, bright informal cafe on the ground floor offering fresh quick light lunches and welcomes children with their own ‘artists in residence’ wall.
However in the evening, Age and Sons becomes home to those who would like a quiet drink and light food in a more sedate environment than the bar downstairs, or dinning room upstairs.
Situated on the charming east Kent coast, only an hour-and-a-half from London and Calais, and one minute from the sea, Age & Sons invites you to enjoy a truly British dining experience.
Set over two floors of a Victorian warehouse within a quaint courtyard in Ramsgate, our restaurant serves delicious seasonal food prepared by one of the UK’s most talented emergent young chefs, Toby Leigh.
They use locally-sourced produce - fruit and veg from nearby allotments and fish straight off the boats bobbing in the harbour.
Chef Toby offers modern British food of the highest order, with an emphasis on locally caught fish and Kentish produce. Here, they pride themselves on foraging for Samphire, wild rocket, nettles and elderberries from the Garden of England, and combine such ingredients with the likes of oysters from Whitstable Bay and Dover sole from the coast. Thrown together with plenty of good service, even more enthusiasm and a barrel-full of style, this newcomer is becoming one of Ramsgate’s most talked about places – so go get down there.
