The house dates from 1895 and was built as the country home of Sir Walter Harris, a former Lieutenant of the City of London. It has a wealth of architectural features including some particularly fine stained glass windows and an oak-panelled bar.
Last year, they were finalists in the Publican Pub Food awards, and were awarded Certificate of Excellence in the category of Alfresco Dining Pub of the Year.
Our Head Chef,Scott McKenzie has redesigned the menus, creating a warming winter menu with regularly changing specials.
Our critically acclaimed food can be served in the main restaurant with its large fireplace, warm lighting and informal atmosphere or, in the Summer, outside on the Verandah with its stunning views. The Beacon is a member of Kentish Fayre, so we source fresh local seasonal ingredients in all our menus whenever possible.
Attentive staff will always be on hand to look after you in a relaxed and friendly manner but with an eye to detail, which is the essence of the Beacon.
