Minnis Bay Photo Comp17-04-2012
The Minnis Bar and Restaurant, over looking Minnis Bay in Birchington, is running a photographic competition throughout the spring and summer.
The free to enter competition is open to anyone who visits the Bay, professional and amateur photographers alike. Leading entries will be displayed on The Minnis website and monthly winners receive a free meal for two. An overall winner, announced in October will receive a meal for four.
The Bay offers numerous photographic opportunities – “wind surfers, beach babes, rows of beach huts, hunks with six-packs, glamorous grans, gorgeous grandpas, sunsets, family scenes, children with ice creams and building sandcastles,” according to chef patron Jason Freedman.
Artist JMW Turner, after whom the new Turner Contemporary gallery in nearby Margate, is named, described the north facing skies over Thanet with "dawn clouds to the east and glorious sunsets to the west” as “the loveliest skies in Europe”.
