Spice Club is a state of fashion, aspirational, young and young at heart. Sophisticated and Stylish right in the heart of Sevenoaks.
Spice Club have put the past behind them. The Indian cuisine served is an amalgam of old and new. The menu a stunning repertoire of 'favourite' Indian dishes of the last 30 years, and a 200 year old style of cooking deemed so spectacular that, until now, only a few places in the world were able to, successfully serve it. This is the legendary Dum Pukt Indian Cuisine, created by the Moghuls, (Turk Monguls by origin and Muslim by religion). The so-called mythical "Food of Kings"
The Moghuls were lovers of nature and the good life and had a keen sense of beauty, and a passion for elegance. This was reflected in the presentation of food delicate flavouring mouth watering dishes, and superb silky sauces.
Spice Club also reflects this same philosophy. This is all based around the values of traditional Indian hospitality and service, delivered with style, panache and distinction. Food that is served at its best quality.
Note: Fridays and Saturdays Spice Club accept bookings at 7pm and 9pm, so everyone can enjoy their favourite curry.

"It's been here for 10 years, but this was my first visit. Behind the uninspiring grey facade (particularly on a cold, damp February lunchtime) is a one of Kent's best Indian restaurants. The interior is far more encouraging. It's chic and modern (though not as impressive as its eponymous sister restaurant in Tunbridge Wells) with a menu to match. Although many 'traditional' favourites feature, there are some unusual and unique items on offer. By way of a starter we went for the chef's signature dish the Lamb Jhankar - marinated scallop of lamb stuffed with mango pickle, rolled on rice noodles, and Tandoori baked (£3.95). We also had a Tandoori Seared Salmon which was moist and fluffy with subtle shades of garlic, paprika and dill (£5.50). For mains we share 3 dishes from the Connoisseurs' Choice menu. The Grilled Sea Bass was the star. Fillets of fresh plumb fish marinated in roasted pickling spices and served with spicy potato and raw mango sauce (£12.95). The Chicken Chettinad (£7.95) a south Indian dish from Madras was a first for me. The devilled chicken had a really bite to it, but not so over-powering as to mask the sublime flavours. The Dum Gost (£8.95) is also one of the more spicy choices. Off the bone lamb slow-cooked in a Handi oven, with yoghurt, fiery sun dried chillies and other spices give a real punch, but again, work with the fresh herbs, rather than against them. Highly recommended." |
