Oscar Road Cafe - Broadstairs - described by BBC Olive Magazine as "Kent's Cutest Coastal Cafe", this is where to come for the freshest, locally-caught seafood, the most tempting home-made cakes, FairTrade coffee, intriguing gifts - and lashings of ginger beer!
And if you want to pretend we're a restaurant, feel free to bring your own wine. After all, a succulent lobster roll always tastes better with a glass of crisp, chilled white...
The cakes change all the time, but some of the favourites are gooey coffee and walnut, outrageously squidgey carrot cake, fresh raspberry and white chocolate cake, funky cupcakes, fudgey brownies, caramelised plum upside-down cake...
They try to source all our produce locally - the crab in your sandwich was probably scuttling about off Ramsgate beach earlier on in the day.
Oscers jams and chutneys come from the National Fruit Collection in Brogdale and the bread is baked 5 minutes up the road by Janet in Dickens Pantry. In winter, our soups are home-made from Kentish vegetables and as organic as can be made.
Even the pork pie is a thing of beauty: made from local pork and organic flour, it's made from choice cuts with just a suggestion of sage and nutmeg.
